A coherent argument backed up by well-chosen examples and grounded in careful reading and evaluation of the sources is essential.You must use proper footnotes or endnotes to acknowledge language and ideas derived from the sources on which you draw in writing your essay. MAIN TOPIC FOR ESSAY: You need to address certain issues such as transnational connection or outside influence. A paper that only talks about China's domestic issues doesn't meet this criteria, so please adjust your research accordingly. I want to focus on ancient Chinese art, so you may want to explore the outside influence on Chinese art or how Chinese art influenced other parts of the world.  Please also include some substantial research on Chinese art, or our textbooks for the historical context.
