American HistorySignificance of Margaret SangerMargaret Sanger was a nurse, sex educator writer and a birth control activist. She lived between 1879 to 1966. She is important in the American history because she was not only the founder of the birth control movement in the United States but also an international leader. She practiced as a nurse on the Lower Side of New York city where she got to understand the relationship between uncontrolled fertility, poverty, high mortality rates and illegal abortions (Voices of Freedom, 2016). She believed that every woman had freedom over her body. With passion for helping women of her time, she created awareness about birth control and contraceptives. Also, she founded the American Birth Control League which later became Planned Parenthood Federation...
