The Spanish American WarThe Spanish-America War was one of the events that impacted both Spain and America. The war triggered by exaggerated false news that featured in the yellow journalism soliciting for U.S intervention in Cubas fight for independence. America felt that Cuba deserved full independence and not the partial self-government that had been accorded to them by their colonizers, Spain (Rockoff). America intervened. Consequently, Spain declared war against the U.S on the 29th of April 1898. The U.S, on the other hand, declared a war against Spain one day later (Rockoff).
