How the video influenced my personal view of masculinityUpon watching the video, I was shocked by how the society has forced boys to grow into individuals whose feelings and opinions are invalidated. It is quite disastrous to live in a culture where men and young boys are asked to man up when they seek help. Regular use of this expression unknowingly advances the myth that "manning up" is not only preferable but also a good sign of showing one's emotions and weaknesses. As a result, boys are compelled to wear a mask, and the face grows to fit it, (Youtube, n.d).
