His book is a reflection of his past with special emphasis on his struggle to come to terms with his father who was a political activist. The book also described a past Palestine that he never lived in and paints a yet to be realized Palestinian future. As a lawyer and writer who lives in the West Bank of Ramallah, Shehadeh was the founder of the internationally acclaimed human rights organization known as Al Hak.
