To combat suicide tendencies within the varying age groups, my program will coordinate with Stewart Middle School and Norristown Area High School in the creation of a Mental Health: Suicide Prevention office space and the development and implementation of Mental Health: Suicide Prevention assemblies. I hope that the office will provide a safe space where children can freely walk in, seek help or to talk about their issues, and for the assemblies become a learning space about suicide. Also, an area where children can learn how mental illness can lead to suicidal tendencies, that mental illnesses vary are universal and not taboo in children this young, and lastly, how to combat these mental illnesses which will in return prevent suicide within this age group in Montgomery County, PA.
