Any topic (writer's choice)
Instructions
Purpose: To give you experience constructing an argument designed to persuade the audience to adopt a policy, to accept your apology, or to maintain confidence in a crisis. You will be working with alleged facts and disputed judgments, and you can assume this will not be for a necessarily "friendly" audience. There is generally a clear call to action (even if it's just please forgive me because I/we are atoning.) There have been plenty of companies/individuals in recent history that have faced adversity, and you can draw upon their experiences/successes (both positive and negative) as you craft your argument. You will be writing this speech from the point of view/perspective of a well known public figure of your choosing. This speech will require significant research (with proper citing of sources.) Length: 8-10 minutes; 1000-1250 words
