According to the Greek mythology, Apollo is the god of the sun (light) as well as reason. In Nietzsches The Birth of Tragedy, Apollonian is a force that gives life and form which shows significant detachment and control synonymous with a great sense of self. On the other hand, Dionysus refers to the Greek god of music and wine (Nietzsche 147).
