One of the things that these two species did, which was similar, was to spend time in tool making. For the Homo neanderthalensis, they made tools using stones. What they would do was to shape the stones into things that they needed, as tools were largely seen as things that would make work easier. The tools that the Homo neanderthalensis made were thus largely of stones. The Homo sapiens also made tools from stone; however, what they did was to use stones in a better way. They developed other tools from the use of stones (Stringer 2016). This was mainly longer bladed knives that were curved from the stones.
