My Last DuchessSynopsis My Last Duchess is a dramatic monologue by Robert Browning, written in the 18 Century. The poem is set in the house of the Duke of Ferrara who happens to be the speaker. He is speaking to a guest and the topic is about a painting painted by Fra Randolf about his late wife, Duchess. The painting is hidden behind the curtain and he laments about the Duchess behavior.
