Reflection Paper Through the case study, I have learned that most people who suffer from different types of mental disorders may be a result of the environment they were brought up in. For example, dysfunctional families, and abusive parents can interfere with ones life. Besides, labeling has gross effects on peoples lives since it can prevent them from discovering who they are. Racial discrimination has a close link to mental illness since the elements people internalize about themselves drives them further into depression, anger, and delusions. Social stigmatization towards people with mental illness makes the condition severe. For example, they interpret them as criminals and rapists they direct hatred towards them.
