IntroductionThe typical working environment, where gender equality is fostered and, in most places, adhered to, where pay is a reciprocation of ones efforts among many other good things, was not as it is in the late 1800s and early 1990s. In trying to shed light on the situation at the time, various authors have dived into this topic. The lengths of this paper expound on the ideas of two authors and how each one of them described this period of economic freedom and the position of women at the workplace. The experiences of the working class in this period, coupled with a reflection of how the same working-class has evolved over the years in terms of their experiences, will also be discussed in this paper.
