SyphilisPathophysiology Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection that is caused when the microorganisms multiply numerously at the site of infection and then spread widely via the bloodstream. In regards to this, syphilis has been attributed to causing vasculitis where it affects both the small and large arteries.
