History and controversy surrounding the Sainte Foy (Saint Faith) reliquarySainte Foy reliquary is one of the most prestigious possessions by the church of Romanesque during the period of 1050 - 1200. A reliquary is a vessel where the remains of Sainte Foy who was a martyr was housed. It is 33.5 inches tall and the interior is wooden covered in gold and jewels. Used spolia a technique that was not usual but it made the statue to more important. They repurposed the head of the Roman statue to create the head of the reliquary.
