The Yemen WarThe Houthis are a ragtag militia rebellious group from the far north part of Yemen near the Saudi border. As explained by Carapico (2017), they have been engaged in six separate regional rebellions against the regime of President Saleh. Though there is no concrete evidence, it is believed that the militia group is supported by Iran, who smuggles guns to them. According to the declaration by the Saudi kingdom, operation defensive storm was meant to avert Irans influence in the peninsula. The Saudis perceived Ansar Allah as an Iranian ambassador because of Zaydism being a sub-denomination of Shia Islam.
