Tales of GabeGiggles echoed within the square; it was the first day of summer. The smell of Croissants was pungent from the left; there was a queue growing outside of Jacque's right before it opened. I left the kids to play in the fountain; they always encountered new children, most of which were sweet kids. I had some errands to run, buy bread, buy hair gel, then leave to be back in time to prepare supper. This time it was different; the children usually remained in the fountains right until I holler at them, but today, they were waiting for me, patiently waiting. There was a fourth child I didn't recognize; he was small and frail and wore green and blue pajamas. I looked at the child and stood for a few seconds, with my mouth noticeably ajar. I looked at him again, from toe to the head....
