Hello Tiana,This is an amazing article. What surprised me by slave resistance was the manner in which it was carried out. For instance, Tiana notes that slaves used to pray secretly for union victory. They also communicated and planned through coded language. Some slaves also opted to steal from their masters, while other broke their working tools feigned illnesses. Indeed, the voices of the enslaved have missed from historical records mainly because when slavery occurred very few slaves were learned to document what was happening. By the time the incidences were being recorded, several slaves had died, and therefore, the real account of what really happened is not captured in most history records.
