Hello Noah,This is an amazing discussion. I was impressed with how you differentiated the qualities of Gilgamesh and Ramayana from those of Ulysses. I agree with you that anyone is likely to anticipate that Ulysses was arrogant, selfish and careless, just like other leaders of the time. However, Ulysses emerges as a decent man whose accomplishments were of clean dealings. In cases where his name would have gained and made him popular, Ulysses withdrew or even sought anonymity before acting. This is the factor that stood out for me most about Ulysses.
