Topic 1Kierkegaard provides a different insight into what self means. Self-according to Kierkegaard is not synonymous with a living person but a set of multiple relations. At the basic level, self is formed by a set of different relations between an individual and the surrounding world. A person is made up of body and brain, which does not add up to self as it requires more. Internal and external relations thus define the self.
