Task 1The item in the ambivalent sexism inventory is gender-based and alternate between the significant values in the lives of men and women. However, the questions are sexist as they compare women to men. According to the questions, men are represented as the standard. In comparing women to men, the questions depict women as a weaker gender. About the scores, a scale of 1 to 5, in my opinion, is too limited to capture feelings and feedback from the respondents. As such, the scale should be out of 10 points with zero representing, disagree strongly, and 10 for agree strongly. The other aspect that crossed my mind is the lack of opportunity for respondents to offer overall comments about gender and sexism.
