The attahced image was obtained from the New York Times published on May 31, 2020. The message of the image is accurate. The image was captured during protests against police brutality and excessive force in the wake of George Floyds killing (Dewan & Baker, 2020). Ironically, the police responded with more force in what is seen as aggressive tactics of law enforcement to restore order. However, the approach inflamed tensions as evident in the image where a police officer is using pepper spray on a protester. I fully support the media efforts in exposing police brutality, which criticizes the police for not stepping up to their primary role of protecting the common public.
