You must include at least one object from the MacGregor book.Write a brief 300-500 word essay with three components: 1) a thesis statement as the very first sentence, 2) evidence from the lecture and readings (see syllabus for the specific readings and citation guidelines--the latter are under the Short Essay instructions), and 3) definitions of Hellenization and Alexander the Great. Include Chicago/Turabian style foonotes (see examples under "Short Essays" in the Syllabus). Generally, syncretism defines how different cultures and religions combined. The coin with the head of Alexander, Rosetta stone, and the dish with Apollo and Dhane exemplify syncretism. The era of syncretism was marked by the development of various sculptures and images. The era also had Hellenization, where Greek ideas and art spread throughout central Asia and the Mediterranean basin.
