Topic: Part 1: Chapter one of the course textbooks discusses what makes the human service field distinct from other fields, such as social work and counseling psychology.  For the first part of your thread, discuss why the human service field is a much-needed profession.  Review the documents covering career opportunities for degrees earned within the DCCC program (found within the Reading & Study folder in Module/Week 1) and share one or two possible careers that you might be interested in pursuing.  Remember that the Human Service degree is designed to prepare individuals with the necessary skills to participate in agency-related activities (community care, court, etc.) and does not fulfill licensure requirements.  Students planning to apply for state licensure should contact their academic advisor for information on degree programs designed to fulfill state licensure requirements.Part 2:  Based on your study of the course materials this module/week, what do you consider the most important historical event in the history of the human services profession?  Why?  While you are sharing opinion here, you must demonstrate informed opinion by supporting your points with references to the course textbook.The discussion should be 300 words Reply to 3 of your classmates' threads from the last module/week. Part 1Generally, the human services field is a much-needed profession since it focuses on the improvement of service delivery to the people and ensuring people access fare, equal and quality services. The profession also aims at helping individuals, families, and communities to overcome their huddles and address their problems to improve their quality of life. The careers I plan to pursue in the future are marriage therapy and occupation therapy. By being a marriage therapist, I will help decrease cases of divorce rates, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency, and child abuse by guiding families on solving emotional conflicts and improving their communication.
