Dreikurs' Levels of Power and Students' Misbehavior Dreikurs' philosophy is classified into two basic principles; the principle of human equality and the social teleological approach. In the human equality principle, man is recognized as a social being with purposive actions, a target goal, and has a unique personality unique (Aldrup, Klusmann, Ldtke, Gllner, & Trautwein, 2018). In contrast, the social teleological approach implies that there exists a supernatural being (God) with a higher purpose and controls the natural order of things (Aldrup et al., 2018). The four levels of Dreikurs' power are attention-seeking, the contest for power, seeking revenge, and displaying inadequacy. These four levels have been used to explain why children misbehave.
