Hello Eric, I agree with you that both the Utnapishtims account and Noahs account have close similarities. Just as you correctly note in your discussion, in both accounts there is a supreme being that wants to destroy the earth and the creatures in because they are not happy with their ways. In Utnapishtim the Supreme Being is Ea while in Noahs account the Supreme Being is God. In both case, the supreme beings give special instructions to their servants on what exactly they should do.
