Gilgamesh as Man and HeroThe first impression concerning Gilgamesh was his strengths, intelligence, bravery, and selflessness. These features were evident in the numerous wars he participated in. In my view, based on the time of the story any, character who was willing to fight and protect the community was a hero. The ability of a character to also face an opponent, who others fear makes them brave and heroes. Therefore, heroes can be classified based on their physique or actions within the society. The description of the character was critical in concluding that the Gilgamesh was a hero. Gilgamesh is described as given a perfect body and endowed with beauty and courage and his beauty surpassed all others (Sanders, 1972, p.13). This description implies that he had the qualities of a hero....
