The book you will need is The Introduction to the Bible by Christine Hayes The pages you will need to read from the book are pages Hayes 222-297, II Kgs 17, Amos, Isaiah 1-12, 28-33, 36-39 if you have the ebook they are pages 232-307. Each question has to be answered with 2-3 paragraphs. Here are the questions below:1. Discuss and illustrate Hayes claim on p. 232 that the historiography of the Deuteronomistic history is the response of one segment of the Israelite community to the events (destructions) of 722 and 586 BCE. Explain how these narratives understand Yahwehs control and involvement in the history of Israel.2. Characterize the nature of prophets as represented in the Hebrew Bible and illustrate with information about either Amos, Hosea or Isaiah. Discuss the formation of biblical prophetic literature, and how, as claimed in Hayes on p. 297, it helped some Israelites make sense of their situation and remain distinct and invulnerable to identity loss.
