Respond to two discussions that I have written. Each response should be at least 150 words. I will also post an example of what each should look like. Please label  them 1 and 2.1. Personality is what makes a person who they are. Different behaviors, emotional intelligence, thought process, actions, etc. are all part of someones personality. Recently there has been an emphasis on the study of personality in the world of psychology. There are so many different tests an assessments available to help not only individuals learn about themselves, but also psychologists, researchers, therapists, and doctors. The study of personality has come a long way and the definitions vary. McClelland (1951, p 69) defined personality as the most adequate conceptualization of a persons behavior in all its detail (Cohen & Swerdlik, 2018).  I think the reason why personality is so heavily studied is because of its importance and value, especially in the world of psychology. For example, a psychologist who is working with someone who recently developed a personality disorder would benefit from studying this individuals personality before and after the development of their disorder. In this situation, personality would be the key in helping understand this individuals struggles and current situation.Another reason personality is so important to study is because every personality differs from the next. I personally believe this is due to the fact that God made us all unique. If there were only two exact personality types, then the world would be split in half. With that being said, God knew each one of us before we were formed and we are all made in his image, meaning that understanding someone on a personal level is always worthwhile. In the future, I would like to see the current emphasis on studying personality remain but in a slightly different manor. Its common for people to take a simple personality test and then label themselves strictly to their findings. I think some personality tests should have follow up information letting the test taker know that their results shouldn't define and predict their future behaviors. 2. Personality testing is a part of psychological assessment that can be extremely useful in many different ways.  Personality testing has a long history as part of the psychological assessment enterprise because it has been a good way to measure behavior.  People typically undergo personality assessment so that they, as well as the assessor, can learn something about who they are. (Cohen & Swerdilk, 2018, p. 362).  Learning about someones personality, whether that be your own or that of someone else, is so important.  When you are able to assess a personality test you can learn things about that person, such as: why they behave a certain way in specific situations, whether they are fit for a specific job or field of work, which environment they learn the best, whether some sort of trauma has altered their personality, and so much more. (Cohen & Swerdilk, 2018, p.360).  Knowing about personality can also allow us to predict how a person might act in a certain situation or which people may be compatible together. When it comes to personality testing there are so many methods that are being used to learn more about personality. While objective methods, which characteristically contain short-answer items for which the assessees task is to select one response from the two or more provided. (Cohen & Swerdilk, 2018, p.402), are a good way to get an idea of someones personality; I think that projective methods should be used much more moving forward.  Projective method is a technique of personality assessment in which some judgment of the assessees personality is made on the basis of performance on a task that involves supplying some sort of structure to unstructured or incomplete stimuli. (Cohen & Swerdilk, 2018, p.403).  While using a projective method does leave a lot of room for misinterpretation, I think that using a projective method of personality testing eliminates the possibility of someone giving a false answer in hopes of a specific result or a persons lack of self-awareness, as long as the assessor is properly trained.  Even though I think that there is a superior method, there are definitely specific situations which would benefit from objective methods over projective methods and visa versa.  Romans 12:4-6, For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.  We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.I believe this verse can be applied to the personality traits that were given to us. EXAMPLE:Great job with your post! You gave a lot of information regarding personality testing in a way that was very clear.  There are so many different uses for personality tests.  A great point you made was the ability to use personality tests with criminals which would allow us the opportunity to possibly prevent the crimes from happening.  I think taking a personality test is such a great way to really get to know and understand yourself and maybe connect some things together that you would not have thought about otherwise.  This also shows you specific areas of yourself that you can maybe work towards improving, as well as specific areas you would excel in based on the results of your personality test.  Personality testing is a great way to really get to know people! Great job again on your post, I pray you finish strong in the last week of this class!!

Forum 61I enjoyed reading your discussion on personality as the definition of a persons behavior, emotional intelligence, actions and thought process. I agree on the importance of personality studies especially in the field of psychology for professional and personal gains. Getting to know your personality is vital to any individual so that they can detect any disorder and seek professional assistance. To the psychologists, patients can only be assisted after studying their past and current personality states. You further emphasized on the importance of acknowledging the difference in personality among individuals. Its true that everyone was made in a unique way by God and displays a different personality. This is what makes the world beautiful with diverse personality traits. Human peace...
