Rhetorical Analysis

Instructions

For this essay assignment you will conduct a rhetorical analysis on a piece of writing that takes a position on an issue. You will need to demonstrate your understanding of the rhetorical situation and rhetorical analysis strategies that weve learned in class. The source of your analysis is entirely your choice, so please bear in mind the type of publication you choose. Using an opinion piece from a local paper might not provide any information on ethos, for example. Additionally, how you organize your analysis may, in part, depend on the type of text youve chosen. You must choose a text that has NOT be analyzed before, so it might be best to pick a new next (something that has been written in recent weeks). Your paper will share your findings in an organized, meaningful way. Your paper will be 3-5 pages (approximately 750-1250 words), and it will center on the rhetorical analysis of the text and the significance of your findings.pick an opinion or editorial piece of writing from a source.
