A written paper about the book "Eaarth: Making a Life on a Tough New Planet" by Bill McKibben. Chapter 3 and 4. (see details and suggestions below section 1 and section 2)SECTION 1: TOPIC REVIEW Approximately 1/3 of your individual paperThe first section of your paper (and in-class presentation) introduces your audience to thetopic. Do not write a comprehensive review of the book. Instead, identify a couple key ideas that best exemplify the issue at hand. Generally, content for the video primer is drawn from this part. What are the primary concerns of the author? What choices are Americans making? Why? Do the common American practices as identified by the author actually make adifference in peoples lives? How? What information, values, and principles are relevant to your decision-making whendetermining the best course of action? What choices does the author encourage to help bring about positive change?SECTION 2: PERSONAL EVALUATION & MAKING A BETTER WORLD Approximately 2/3 of your individual paperThis is where the personal engagement occurs. The questions of what should be done, and more importantly, what should you do (if anything), and why are the questions tobe addressed. In this section, stop telling your reader about the book. Articulate a heart-felt argument about why life should be lived a particular way. Did anything you read particularly surprise or alarm you? What assumptions were youmaking before that may have been false? (review your notes from the Pre-projectDiscussion) In light of what you read, how can you help participate in making changes for the better? What advice do you suggest to others? Reflect on the topic and imagine what you think a better world would look like anddescribe it. What can you do to make this vision a reality? Whats your plan foraccomplishing this? Does having more information on the topic help you figure out how you may haveparticipated in corrupt systems/practices? Does it help show you how to work to makethe world a better place from now on? How?
