(There are two example of this in your book; Hockney's Portrait of an Artist (p. 44-44) and Las Meninas (190-191).)      a) This is an exercise in looking.  Therefore, any discussion of the artist's biography, historical context, or your personal experience will not be counted towards the word count.       b) Your essay should include a discussion of all the elements and principles, and discussion of the medium used by the artist.       c)  To organize your essay, your overall argument and conclusion should address how the artists used the principle of emphasis.        d) Your essay should be 1000-1500 words.3)  An image of the artwork.

Formal Art Analysis IntroductionArt works employ different techniques as well as materials in order to portray the intended message that the artist wishes to express top their audience. The painting Crystal Cove depicts a landscape piece of art that portrays a family home that rests on the shore. Contextually, the image depicts several houses that rest on the shore and also attempts to highlight aspects of nature around these building and various activities that could be going on.
