Cecil. 2000. Resolving Ethical and Legal Problems in Randomized Experiments. Crime and Delinquency 46(3): 330-353. Based on your reading of the article, students are to answer the following discussion questions. 1. According to the authors, ethical issues in experiments generally arise in two areas. List and describe those areas. 2. The authors provide a list of three broad approaches to mitigating or resolving ethical issues that surround randomized experiments. Describe these approaches in detail. 3. Based on what you have read and been exposed to in this course, and other courses, what are some other ethical concerns specific to conducting experimental research in the social sciences (criminal justice in particular)? How might these ethical concerns be addressed? Format: There is no specific page limit to the assignment, but the answers MUST be single-spaced WITHIN each answer, with a double space BETWEEN each answer. Additionally, the project MUST be typed, with 1 margins throughout the document. All students must use 12-point, Times New Roman Font. Grading Procedures: Your assignment will be evaluated primarily based on the quality (i.e., style, accuracy) of your answers.
