The news articles present something that, to those outside Britain, would be a very new thing. This is how racism was heightened during the clamor to get out of the EU(BBC, 2019). To the rest of the world, Brexit, as it was referred to, was all about Britain seeking its sovereign freedom. The racist acts pointed out that Britain, just like the US, struggles with racial inequalities. The only difference between Britain and the US is that racial issues are not pronounced in Britain. For instance, Britain does not have a Black Lives Matter movement, which speaks out against racist acts.
