Black feminism or Womanism is a social theory which draws its concepts from the history and experiences that black women experience every day. According to Alice Walker (1979), a womanist is a woman who shows a daring, courageous, outrageous and conscious behavior with the desire to understand in greater depth than what is well-thought-out as good for a person. A womanist can also be a woman who is in love with other women, appreciates and favors womens culture and emotional flexibility and strength.
