The United States' prison rates are astonishingly large in contrast to comparable nations, and it is becoming clear that we are not prepared to house more than two million prisoners; as such, there is a need to reduce recidivism (Magee, 2021). It is estimated that 95 percent of people who are convicted would be allowed back into our neighborhoods (Magee, 2021).
