The Word Made Plain: The Power and Promise of Preaching I find The Word Made Plain by James Harry Harris to be a great book written to explore how African American preachers in the Black church receive encouragement from their congregation to make the word of God more clear and simple. In his book, Harris, provides hints oh how African American preachers or anybody who wants who to become preacher must know how to integrate different perspective and penetrate the heart of the parishioner. In the book, Harris starts by exploring the history of the Black church and the problems which the blacks have suffered (Harris, 2004).
