One of the arguments that clarify my understanding of the notes is the fact that Africa was the home of resources. The western countries were interested in Africa because Africa at that time was so rich as far as resources were concerned. The resources unlike in Europe had never been exploited. In Europe, activities like the Industrial Revolution had led to the depletion of the many resources that were used to kick start and run the revolution. Essentially, Europe saw that it was wise to move to Africa and exploit those resources. At that time many Africans had not gone to school. Many were never aware of the kind of resources that they sat on. In Europe the struggle for many of those countries was not only how and where to obtain resources, but where to get them at affordable prices. This...
