interview project
Instructions
This is an interview project, you need to interview four students at least depending on their category below in the description. You need to write the interview question depending on the description and ask the students and their answers. Then write the essay about them. But you need to provide the paper that has the question and their approval to answer your interview. They should be international students, Hispanic, Black women, special needs students in college.Student Cross-Cultural Interview Project (four-page)Purpose: The purpose of this project is to understand the needs of different cultural groups of students on college/university campuses, and to understand the developmental experience of cross-cultural students on campus during their college years. Additionally, we hope that this project will encourage the recognition that these cross-cultural groups may have unmet needs on our campuses, and as such, they present significant challenges to college administrators. In short, the purpose is to focus on developmental and identity issues, with practical implications for administrators.Activity: Each student will select a particular cultural group of COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY STUDENTS (not graduate students), e.g., Hispanic college students, Black women in college, special needs college students, International students, etc., and conduct an interview with at least two student members of the chosen culture (joint or separate interviews), about their developmental issues during the college years. Based on the results of these interviews, each student will research his or her chosen cultural group and develop a four-page paper addressing the following points:1. Describe a brief profile of your interviewees, including their cultural subgroup, college major, minor (if applicable), year (sophomore, senior, etc.) and attach a transcript of your interview questions.2. The cultural group's background, perspectives, values, assumptions, and developmental needs that differ from the community considered as a whole.3. The level of connectedness and acceptance the cultural group feels with/from the broader community and the factors that promote a sense of community membership; or if more appropriate, the barriers which make it difficult for this cultural group to connect with their larger community.4. The unique educational and social needs, including specific developmental tasks, of this cultural group and general approaches you would recommend for colleges and universities to address those needs adequately.5. Their prominent developmental and identity issues, and the extent to which the developmental theories studied in class "fit" their experiences or do not fit their experiences (goal is to conduct a thorough analysis of existing theory from the vantage point of these students development).6. Specific, practical recommendations for college and university administrators to follow in helping students from different cultures connect with the institution as a whole, and in enhancing student learning and personal development.7. Incorporate in your discussion a theoretical framework of developmental theories (at least ten references) regarding the characteristics and needs of the chosen cultural group that supports or contradicts your analysis of developmental issues in that particular culture.Based on these cross-cultural papers, you will post a one-paragraph description/presentation of your paper for discussion on our class zoon link, and post consistent feedback on each others papers. (So, I need one paragraph (at least 10 sentences) describe this paper and this experience)IMPORTANT: Always obtain permission from the students you interview prior to interviewing them. Explicit permission is required for the interview itself as well as for any use you will subsequently make of the interview content (e.g., taping or recording your interview; reporting or presenting the contents of your interview - in this case, you can reassure the students interviewed that you will not use any of their personal, identifying information at any time for any reason). The rubric is attached
