Peer ReviewThe Dyson model of a SUV with the longest car batter project failed for a number of reasons. Dyson was over ambitious. His model weighed 200 kgs more than the already established Tesla and was double the range making the project to be technically hard to achieve. The project also faced stiff competition and strained to enter the market. Tesla had largely dominated the market already with high market shares. Dyson underestimated the market by investing his half a billion pounds without establishing the viability of the project. There was also challenge in identifying a partner in industry battery manufacturer. Negotiating a batter deal was essential. The management missed the mark in this project.
