Film reviewPrincess Iron Fan is a Chinese animated short film produced in the year 1941. This makes it one of the oldest animated films in the history of the Chinese film industry. It was produced by a team of around two hundred and thirty-seven Shanghai personnel during the Second World War (Guchan & Laiming, 1941). It was a very hard time to produce a film due to the war's harsh conditions in this period. The film was produced by Wan Guchan and Wan Laiming, popularly known as the wan brothers. For the Wan brothers to create an animated film with Chinese taste, they adapted a small section of the journey to the west and put it into a screenplay. This film tells about an incident where Xuanzang, a monk, is faced with magical fires burning a mountain. This forces him to stop his journey...
