Ronald was in shock when the doctor informed him that he was HIV positive. He confessed to the doctor that he was gay, but he could not tell his family. He said that he did not want to bring shame to the family. HEALTH CAREThe Haitian community views homosexuality as a norm act, and it is allowed in the community. There are no rules that govern homosexuality in the community, and discrimination in workplaces is prohibited based on sex opinions and marital status. The protestant and catholic churches deny the act and say it is a great sin, and if Ronalds parents were religious and realize he was HIV positive, they could neglect him since they will be ashamed.
