Compare and Contrast (Dickinson + Poe)Edgar Allan Poe was a brilliant writer and a literature critic who wrote short stories and poems. Poe was born in 1809 in America and was regarded as romanticism, and he lived by that profession alone. Some of the short stories he wrote are "The Cask of Amontillado" and "The Tell-Tale Heart," which I will be comparing. "The Cask of Amontillado is more of a revenge story while "The Tell-Tale Heart" is a story of feeling guilty after committing a crime. "The Cask of Amontillado was published in 1846, and it follows Montresor and Fortunato (Elhefnawy 103). Montresor plans to take revenge on his fellow nobleman and friend, Fortunato, during a carnival for insulting him.
