There has been an incident in GlaxoSmithKline Company which resulted to recalling of the Zantac medicine which is a drug that is mostly used for heartburns. Recalling the drug was termed as a precaution after levels of probable cancer-causing impurity was detected in the drug. The recalling affected the syrup medicines, the injections as well as the 150 and 300 mg tablets (Varghese, 2019). It is believed that there was a change in the manufacturing process which resulted to the impurity that was witnessed and therefore the drug had to be recalled.
