The New DealThe Great Depression had overall deleterious effects. However, African-Americans were the most affected by the Great Depression. Some of the results of the great depression included loss of employment for the employed personnel. For the whites, the rate of unemployment was 25% percent, while the rate of unemployment for the African-Americans was well above 50%. Most of the decisions that President Franklin D Roosevelt made were more inclined toward pleasing the whites and forgot about the situation in the south.
