Particularly the emergence of Dar al-Islam under Uthman Dan Fodio was one such group that was becoming powerful. The group closely chose the reforms they were ready to back and was for militant reforms. During the 1500 and 1800, many African societies changed as more violence and disregard for the environment were seen (Robinson). Uthman rallied his followers not to accept traditional Muslim practices but to ask for reforms from the political class. Having different opinions did not go down...
