ObjectiveTo determine how temperature and luminosity are used in classifying stars. To design an H-R diagram and aid in understanding stellar evolution.MethodThe formula for luminosity is Distance* Brightness. A temperature is a unit that is used to measure the degree of heat while heat refers to the degree of random vibrations of free atoms (Malkov, Kovaleva, Sichevsky & Zhao, 2020). To measure temperature, one can either use a spectroscope and determine a plant curve or determine dark spectrum lines where the width and pattern are examined to determine the temperature.
