Second Essay (Visual Analysis)Building on the discussion we had about graphics in Chapters 12-14, and the class exercise we had on Oct. 19 in which we analyzed ads, for this writing assignment please find a print or online document (it could be an ad, poster, cartoon, etc.) and write a 2-3 page essay that first describes it, and then analyzes whether or not it effectively reinforces "the messages" that are in the text (the words).  Please also include who you think the target audience is, and analyze how it uses Pathos (emotions), Ethos (credibility), and/or Logos (logic/reason) to appeal to the audience.  You may also want to include your thoughts about how it uses color and/or topography to emphasize what it's trying to say.  As we discussed in class on Oct. 19, Pathos, Ethos, and Logos are the three powerful strategies for "persuasion" that the Greek philosopher Aristotle came up with 2,500 years ago and they're still being used to persuade and appeal to readers today.  Thank you.  Please submit your essay in Canvas and, if you can, please attach a copy of what you are analyzing.  If you can't attach a copy, then be sure to describe it.  You do not need to do a Works Cited page.The essay is due by midnight, Nov. 2.
