Salem Witch Trials
Instructions
Perhaps more than any other event, the Salem Witch Trials from 1692-93 remains a landmark of religious superstition, intolerance, and horror. What actually took place in the relatively sleepy town of Salem Village 1692 that resulted in over 80s executions (the death of Giles Corey, who refused to stand trial, was particularly cruel and unusual in that he was slowly suffocated with one stone being placed on him upon another)? Why did this event happen? This group is to review the relevant OpenStax, e-lecture materials for context, and then to go to the UMKC Famous trials site. At minimum, you ought to carefully read, The Witchcraft Trials in Salem: An Account, section. After doing so, present your argument as to how these trials took place. 250 wordsMLA citationUse references (textbook, article, Washington post article) Textbook reference:Corbett, P. Scott et al.
