Generally, sexual assault of servicemen and women is a major concern in the military. Different surveys and statistics indicate a quickly escalating rise in sexual assault, especially among women. In 2019 the Pentagon released a report on army sexual assault to illuminate how to prevent the issue, which is still a challenge despite numerous efforts to combat and prevent the problem.
