De Stijl: NeoplasticismFounded in the 20th century, De Stijl art is a Dutch art movement translated to the style. The art style uses lines and color to represent nature and, upon use, started to influence architecture. The founders of De Stijl art were Piet Mondrian and Theo Van Doesburg, with Mondrian advancing the art, defining his aims and being the first user of the term neoplasticism, which became the name given to his abstract art (Marotta 37).
